From India to MENA: Building Speech AI for Real Conversations

Every language comes with its own complexities. After years of building speech AI for India’s multilingual landscape, we took on a new challenge: creating speech models that understand the way conversations unfold across the Middle East.

That journey led to Alif and Rawi, our native Arabic speech models, recently featured by Express Computer.

Designed for enterprise conversations across the MENA region, Alif and Rawi are built to handle what most speech models struggle with: natural code-switching between Arabic and English, multiple regional dialects, and the nuances of everyday speech.

The feature explores how our experience building multilingual speech AI in India laid the foundation for tackling the complexities of Arabic. It also highlights Alif’s benchmark-leading performance on conversational Arabic-English speech recognition and Rawi’s ability to generate natural, expressive Arabic voices for enterprise applications.

For us, this launch is more than the introduction of two new models. It reflects our continued effort to build speech AI that understands people as they naturally speak, helping enterprises deliver more accurate transcription, more human voice experiences, and richer conversational intelligence.
